Why My Stage Name? Born and raised in Tempe, I was known to the world as Missy Goitia until I got married. Then I became Melissa Werner. Far more dignified to be certain, but then anyone who knew from "the old days" didn't know who Melissa Werner was. I started telling people that Melissa Werner is my stage name. It seems to work.
